اگر آپ کے تعلقات نہیں ہیں تو جناح اہسپتال میں آپکا مریض آپکے سامنے خالق حقیقی سے جا ملتا ہے اور آپ خود کو قصوروار سمجھنے لگتے ہیں۔

Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) formally know as Jinnah Hospital among local folks is situated in the cantonment area at the back side of Karachi Hockey Stadium, on Rafiqui Sarwar Shaheed Road in the same lane of Regent Plaza Hotel. It is one of the very famous hospital in Karachi. Although it is a government funded hospital but still many private donors provide medical facilities to needy people, one can get free medicines and many other supportive facilities including all sort of Medical tests. Its OPD is much crowded and the emergency center is always flooded with patients coming from various parts of Karachi. Since it is much crowded so many people find it hard to get immediate assistance to get some relief, also Doctors are much occupied so they do not pay full attention on every patient so everyone raise great concern about it. Although management is much experienced but still they need to improve the quality of services so as to make every patient get instant relief. It is a fact that no one come to this hospital for having leisure time, they visit this place when they suffer from any disease or become victim of an accident. Doctors and the management can heal their wounds and provide them required assistance just to let them feel better. Whenever you visit this hospital, keep one thing in your mind that because of many patients in this hospital, you may not get the priority treatment, so just have patience and wait for your turn to get medical assistance. Since there are many professional doctors, who also teach in the Jinnah Medical College, they will serve in an appropriate manner and you will get fully cured soon. Stay blessed.

The guy in the ultrasound is the most pathetic non professional and evil person. Who did not conduct the ultrasound properly. This guy should be removed from the radiology department who scolds every critical patient and deny to do ultrasound correct. He can't even read doctor's written instructions.

Doctors are not good, there is no wheelchair. You have to walk your patient all through the emergency which is quite away from the entrance.

Cleanliness lacks, and there are no strechers available.

All the doctors are sindhi who prefer ethnicity.

The opening ceremony was a grand affair. The first class of students was inducted on 1st June, 1959. In 1963, the amalgamation of BMSI and all units of JCH led to the creation of JPMC with the combined administration headed by a Director. JPMC, thus established, comprised of a cluster of buildings spread over 148 acres. The prime purpose of this institution, in addition to treating patients, became higher medical education, training and research. Thereafter, with the passage of time, more buildings were constructed to cater to the growing needs of various evolving specialties. It can now proudly claim to be the biggest and the best equipped public sector hospital in Pakistan, employing highly qualified staff in numerous specialties, ready to render quality health care services to the ailing. In the process, JPMC also imparts high quality training to medical graduates, nurses and technicians and undertakes meaningful research in clinical and basic medical sciences.  1952, Dow Medical College (DMC) was attached with JCH. In August 1954 the National Assembly of Pakistan authorized the Basic Medical Sciences Institute (BMSI), as basic sciences education was deemed crucial to establishing a centre for higher medical education. After its initial establishment at DMC, Karachi, the Government of Pakistan changed the site for the development of BMSI to a building situated at the site of JCH. The Indiana University with its staff embarked on the establishment of BMSI, headed by Dr. Paul A. Nicoll, Prof.of Physiology who deserves major credit for accomplishment of this assignment. He was ably assisted by Dr. Osgood D Priddle, Prof.of Pharmacology and Dr. Rolla N. Harger, Prof.of Biochemistry. The BMSI with six departments and laboratories, including Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Physiology, was thus established as the most updated medical institution of its time. The official opening ceremony was held on 11th April, 1959. Speakers on this occasion were the President of Pakistan, General Muhammad Ayub Khan, President of Indiana University, Dr. Harman B. Wells and Director General Health, Col. M. Jaffer. After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was requested to grant approval to lend his name to the hospital, which he graciously accorded, with the condition that it be opened for the public. Thus the Medical Corps Hospital/British General Hospital was named as Jinnah Central Hospital (JCH).
Being the capital city of Pakistan at that time, Karachi became home to thousands of Federal Government employees, who settled here along with their families. The Government of Pakistan decided to establish JCH as a well equipped hospital to cater for their medical needs, as the existing Civil Hospital was inadequate for this purpose. The journey of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) started in 1930 in Medical Corps Hospital, meant for medical aid to military personnel exclusively. In 1942 it was re-named as the British General Hospital and remained as such till 1947; a 100 bedded hospital with all basic necessary facilities

Although Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) is a public sector hospital I was pleasantly surprised to see it clean and well organized with guards guiding you to where you want to go. The roads (it's a huge complex) were well maintained, abundant greenery and well marked pavements. The buildings had clearly visible markings which made navigation easy. The staff was friendly and courteous. Very satisfying experience while having my COVID-19 Booster shot.

Only visit this if you are strapped for cash, are required to go for official business or you actually know what you're doing. Otherwise, you might even be harmed by the gross negligigence this place is infamous for. For example, they don't even wipe your skin with an alcohol pad before administering an injection, so a sensible person would bring his own swipes.

One of the worst hospitals in karachi.
Over crowded emergency, lake of interest in patients by nurses and doctors.

It requires great attention of government.
There is mismanagement on it's peak

I had the worst experience at JPMC's radiology dpt. I know that at public hospitals you don't get the best, however, at JPMC the staff and the doctors were the rudest. I was there for my CT-Scan. In the first step, there was a doctor who was responsible to take history from patients. He went through my reports and said although you don't need a CT, but "m phr b likh k de raha hn". I was like OKAY! He was so rude that i couldn't explain why my dr has recommended.
Then I had to wait there for more than 3 hours and they never called. "Sifarish" chl rhi thi, jinka koi janne wala tha unhy bula rhy thy baqi sb bahir wait. Koi number follow ni kr rhy thy. Then finally, i also tried to get kahin s sifarish and they called me.
Then the worst happened. They didn't ask me about if I have anything metalic, koi watch, ring, or any other thing (although I knew, or m n a c koi cheez pehni ni thi, but agr koi or hota jisay pata na ho, wo bechara to maraa jata). They didnt explain what they are going to do with me. The least experienced staff started IV, jo k size m chhotta tha so mere haath m infection hogya, my hand swelled. Another rude dr came, started shouting at staff, I was there terrified. No one was explaining to me k mere sath ho kya raha tha. IV lgatay lagatay mere dono hatho m 3 baar they inserted needle. They made the whole processes so painful. I would highly recommend people NOT to go to JPMC for CT-Scan. They are so un-professional.
PS: Agr mareez ziada hain or rush h, ye bahana bana kr marezo ko itna rudely treat krte hain to mareez ko saaf saaf keh den k bhai hm aap s janwaro wala rawayya rkhne wale hain agr kahin or jana h to kahin or chale jaen.
